Games that use dice and the dice themselves goes back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Modern craps developed from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the beginnings of the game, but Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s presumed that Sir William’s paladins bet on Hazard through a siege on the fortress Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was acquired from the fortification’s name.
Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when banished by the British, the French relocated down south and located safety in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they were driven out of Acadia, they brought their best-loved game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it fair mathematically.
